Easy To Use Panel

The control panel on the new IronMaven J490A gives you all the control you need at your fingertips. The panels functions include a simple programer for the anti-calc warning system, a knob to control the amount of steam you need for your ironing task, power switches for the boiler and iron, a low water indicator to tell you its time to refill the tank, and a power on/off indicator light.

Easy To Clean

The IronMaven J490A is equipped with a unique anti-calc warning system that tells you when it is time to clean the steam tank. Each unit is supplied with two strips of litmus paper so you can check the hardness of your water. In a couple of short steps, you can program into the control panel the hardness of your water... and that's it. When it's time to clean, the unit will beep, indicating that it is time to follow the cleaning instructions (see owners manual).

Professional Cork Handle

Just like the professional "i" series steam ironing stations, the new IronMaven J490A comes standard with a professional quality cork handle iron. Cork is still the natural choice for professionals because of its resistance to heat, longevity (and sustainability as well). The iron on the J490A is also equipped with a locking mechanism for the steam activation button. This is a handy feature when you want to use your iron as a fabric steamer (vertical steaming).

Aluminum Sole Plate

Professionals know the value of an aluminum sole plate. It is the (still) the best conductor of heat for a steam iron, and is the only material we use on our professional and home iron steam stations. And like all Reliable steam irons, the holes are at the tip. This allows for maximum penetration of steam into the fabric and reduces the reduces the negative effects of hard water in a steam iron.
