Embroidery Machines

What is a stand-alone embroidery machine?

A stand-alone embroidery machine requires no connection to the computer in order to work. Machines such as the Singer Futura Series requires a constant connection to the computer in order to embroider because the embroidery machine itself does not have the processing power to embroider. It requires the processing power of your computer in order to embroider and a connection must be made at all times or the machine can not embroider. A stand-alone embroidery machine, such as a Brother or Janome, embroidery machine do not require a computer to embroider. A computer is only needed if you want to transfer embroidery designs, otherwise the machine can embroider all by itself because it has the processing power built-in to handle the embroidery function.
