Tweety's Flight!
Tweety was born in the mind of Warner Bros. animator, Bob Clampett,
who is a well-respected and legendary pioneer in animation. Clampett
drew inspiration for Tweety from baby birds he saw in nature films in his youth,
in addition to baby pictures of himself and his son. The famous bird and cat
chasing scenario, the hallmark of Tweety and Sylvester, was first seen in the
Oscar-winning film, Tweetie Pie, in 1947. Many films followed in which
the hungry, determined Sylvester unsuccessfully pursued the smart little bird.
Tweety's famous phrase, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat... I did! I did!"
and clever antics when dealing with Sylvester, have drawn audiences
to the fearless bird and created one of the Looney Tunes' largest fan bases.
