Stitches Per Minute
The Brother Innovis 4000D Sewing and Embroidery Machine has three speeds with a maximum of 1000 Stitches per minute.
Sewing with the Embroidery Unit Attached
Utility and decorative stitches can be sewn with the embroidery unit attached.
Extra Large Sewing Area
One of the largest sewing bed areas for sewing large projects. (210mm x 108mm)
Automatic Presser Foot Lifter
This button is used to automatically raise and lower the presser foot.
3 Presser Foot Height Adjustment
The Brother Innovis 4000D Sewing and Embroidery Machine presser foot height can now be electronically adjusted for fabric thickness. The heights are 10mm, 7.5mm, and 3.2mm.
Presser Foot Pressure
Now adjusted electronically within the machine. Pressure can be set from 1 to 4.
Image Key
Press this key to display an enlarged view of the selected stitch pattern. A ruler, a zoom function and a thread color function are also available in this area.
Superior Feed Dog System
The Brother Innovis 4000D Sewing and Embroidery Machine has 7 feed dogs to ensure smooth, even feeding of multiple layers and a variety of fabric weights.
Feed Dog lever on Embroidery Unit
A feed dog lever is located on the front of the embroidery unit to raise and lower the feed dogs. This feature is for sewing with the embroidery unit attached.
4 Sewing Lights
4 lights are located in the sewing area for better visibility. (Needle area and sewing area.)
Automatic Bobbin Winder
The bobbin begins to wind as soon as the bobbin holder is pushed into position. The bobbin automatically stops when the bobbin is full.
Larger bobbin capacity
SA156 bobbin holds more thread. Less time is spent changing and winding bobbins.
Low Bobbin Indicator
The machine stops and a low bobbin warning comes on when there is approximately one yard of thread left on the bobbin.
Upper & Lower Thread Sensors
There are thread sensors for the bobbin and upper thread to let you know when the thread runs out.
Presser Foot/Needle Exchange Key
This key locks all key and button functions to prevent operation of the machine while changing the needle or presser foot. Pressing the key again unlocks the screen and machine to continue sewing.

Memory in Sewing Mode
5 sets of memory settings are available for each individual utility and decorative stitch.
Saved Settings
When a stitch is selected the last settings retrieved are displayed. The last settings retrieved are retained even if the machine is turned off or a different stitch was selected.
Retrieve
When a utility or decorative stitch is selected retrieve will display the custom settings that have been saved.
Straight Stitch Plate Included
When the straight stitch plate is on the machine the needle will automatically move to the center needle position.
Eyelet Stitch
The Brother Innovis 4000D Sewing and Embroidery Machine eyelet stitch can now be adjusted.
LCD Screens
Sewing and Embroidery Screens can be displayed when embroidery unit is attached.
15 Buttonholes
15 buttonholes plus a new manual 4-step buttonhole for oversized buttons.
Processing Speed
Machine's computer processing speed is faster than previous models.
My Custom Stitch
New My Custom Stitch functions: zoom, color, save custom stitches to USB media or computer and can be combined with built-in Character/Decorative stitches. The machine reads and saves .pmi file format (My Custom Stitch).
Sewing Type Selection Key
When the Brother Innovis 4000D Sewing and Embroidery Machine sewing type selection key is chosen, the stitch advisor will automatically set machine width and length for appropriate stitch function.
Bobbin Adaptor Pin
A bobbin case adaptor pin is included with the machine for different size and shape disposable bobbins.
Extra Bobbin Case
An extra bobbin case is included with the machine for use with various types of bobbin thread other than Brother bobbin thread.
New Foot Controller
The new foot controller is larger and now has a retractable cord.
